Day 59: Shades of Gray

Hubby declutters two of his sweaters today:

They'll go to the charity shop.
Thank you and Goodbye!

Day 58: Two in, Two out

Cosmetics that get replacements:

Moisturizer and powder.

My new favourite moisturizer with deep sea extracts
and a facial powder I have had for years
that fell down and broke the other day.

Thank you,
Goodbye
and Hello again.

Day 57: Salt

For the same reasons I decluttered the kids' toothpaste with fluoride:

Bye-bye salt!

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

Day 56: Self Help

Immediate declutter:

Tear open your favourite chocolate
(or carob, in my case).
Eat.
Throw away wrapping.

Thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamk you!

Day 55: Hand Barrier

I am painting quite a lot with my hands these days.
To protect my hands I found some cream in the bathroom.

That's used up now.

Thank you for making the tactile sensation of paint
gentler on my skin
and Goodbye!

Day 54: Socks

Hubby went away for a couple of days for a TV training course.
When I left, he gave me those souvenir socks,
to declutter.

Bye-bye my love (and see you soon)
and Goodbye socks
(forever).

Day 53: Hundreds and Thousands

"Liebesperlen" - love pearls, that's what the are called in German.
When I was a child, they came in little glass bottles,
now in plastic.

The contents are also plastic to me -
mainly sugar and E-numbers.

Thanks for being so colourful to look at
and bye-bye!

Day 52: Tiny Bed

From Carolina's clutter:

a small bed that misses two legs

really small

Goodbye and Good Night!

Day 51: 14 Balloons and a strange Thing

Again from Clara's room, something I didn't know of:

mini-balloons, that I am not able to inflate

Maybe this orange thing that says water bomb on one side and blow/made in china on the other side might be of some help. I couldn't figure it out.

Bye-bye balloons!

Day 50: Puzzled

From Clara's clutter:

I had never seen that puzzle before.
And there was actually a second mini-puzzle packed inside the box.
I have decided to let it go
into the paper recycling.

Thank you and Goodbye!

Day 49: Stickers

The girls love stickers.

This sticker booklet originally belonged to Clara,
but I gave it to little Carolina
to keep her busy during my mama & baby yoga classes.

There is not much left on the pages.

Thank you for the fun
and Goodbye!

Day 48: Pink Clutter

This week I'll peek into the girlie's clutter
and will sneak things out.
They won't even notice.

A tape roller from Clara's room
that came with a girls' magazine.

Short shuddering attact.
Goodbye!

Day 47: Sweet Necklace

I don't know, how it came into the house.
Probably via a children's birthday
or Grandma's sweet intention.

Looks cute,
but is pure nutritional rubbish,
that leaves the kitchen today.

Goodbye sugar, colouring and cavities!

Day 46: Stoned

Releasing two more of Clara's stones back into nature.
(found in Hubby's workroom)

Goodbye and have fun in the fresh sping air!

Friday, February 14, 2014

Day 45: A Stone

Clara likes collecting stones and bringing them home.

I find them in all kinds of places in the house.
I don't have a heart of stone,
but this stone leaves the house,
through the living room door
into the garden.

I think this counts
as very natural recycling.

Back to nature.

Day 44: Notepad

I don't even remember where it came from:

It scares me.
I have never put a single note on this paper.

Paper recycling, please.

Day 43: Inspiration Package

The packaging from my latest book orders still cluttered the studio floor.

Off to the paper recycling!
Thank you for wrapping the precious insides safely
and Goodbye!

For further inspiration I keep these stamped images:

(from an order of Phoebe Wahl prints)

Day 42: A Lamp

When Carolina was just born I wanted a little lamp for the nights.
I used the lamp a bit in the beginning,
but soon it was just standing around,
catching dust.

... and somehow, somewhen the lampshade broke.

I think, I'll keep the bulb which is still intact.
The rest is residual waste.

Thank you for giving light in magic baby nights
and now Lights Out!

Day 41: Sew many Leftovers

From my last sewing adventures:

Thank you for the fun and me-time
and Goodbye!

Sunday, February 9, 2014

Day 40: Yarn Labels

I was a very avid knitter for a while. I still knit, but not as obsessed as I used to (but that can happen again). You are usually advised to keep the labels from the yarn you have knitted with, for later reference.

But you know what? I have never checked them. When in doubt, you can wash all wooly items by hand or with the wool-program of your washing machine. And I documented my knitted things on my Ravelry page.

So thank you for holding those wooly pleasures
and Goodbye!

Day 39: The Studio

We are entering sacred space for the days to come:

my studio, as it is right now

The only thing I had the courage to touch today
was this:

an empty thread spool

I have dozens of spools for sewing in all kinds of colours.
I think, I kept this one for Carolina to play with.
She prefers the spools with real thread still on them.
More fun.

So thank you (probably former pink thread spool, because they go fastest)
and Goodbye!

Day 38: Decluttered Bathroom

The bathroom is fine for the moment.
As I went through it to find something more to declutter,
the only thing I found was this:

A forgotten cap, appears to have belonged to a suncreen bottle.
Thank you and Goodbye!

Now it's important
to have an eye on the things
that will enter the bathroom.

Day 37: Plastic Duck

Last month Carolina went to the dentist for her first time.

As a present for her endurance she got this plastic duck.
It's plastic, not rubber.
We already have five rubberducks.

I should have left pre-cycled the duck right at the dentist's,
we have no use for it.

Thanks for the good intentions
and Goodbye!

Wednesday, February 5, 2014

Day 36: Forgotten Package

Of some things in the bathroom only the packaging is the left:

... and the syrup has expired.
(gift from my mother)

Mostly from our meager home medicine chest,
was maybe kept for instructions.

Thank you and Goodbye!

Tuesday, February 4, 2014

Day 35: 10 More Bathroom-Chuck-outs

It is amazing what I find in our bathroom
without too much searching:

And we don't need it.
Thank you and Goodbye!

Monday, February 3, 2014

Day 34: Fluoride, yes or no?

... in toothpaste or other things?
Considering the controversy about fluoride,
(just google "fluoride dangerous")
I would say no now.

Thank you for clearing up on this topic
and Goodbye!

Sunday, February 2, 2014

Day 33: 20-Things-in-the-Bathroom-Quick-Chuck

Exactly this.
Just go quickly through your cosmetics and/or chemicals:

Finished, expired, not used.

And if you have counted only 19 things,
here is number 20.

Thank you for whatever you have done for our skincare
and Goodbye!

Saturday, February 1, 2014

Day 32: Bzzzzzzz

Let's see what I can find in the bathroom!

Mosquito repellent from our vacation 2011.
(South-West USA)

Should have expired by now.
Buzz away!
