Day 23: Paint

Decluttering creates space.
Not only in the house,
but also in the head and heart.
Who would have thought that after decluttering for a few days,
I would start painting.
Something I haven't done in years.

This paint tube from I-don't-when-and-where-from has dried out.
It can go.
I have new paint now.

Thank you for waiting.

Getting Ready

I am reading right now this bestseller by Japanese professional declutterer Marie Kondo (will also be released in English in April 2014, see here). You can always use a little magic with cleaning (remember Mary Poppins?), don't you? Will it be life-changing like the English title promises? Do I want that?

While reading, I changed my original plan of letting-go-of-one-thing-per-day. Marie Kondo doesn't advocate the "one-thing-a-day"-tactic and I want to keep my options open and try different decluttering approaches. I can get rid of one thing or more, whatever I feel like. This project is supposed to be fun.
